Last week Saturday, I received one of the best phone calls I have ever received in my entire life! The call came from Marcos in St. Louis, Missouri. As soon as I picked up, I knew something big was going on because I have never heard that 17-young-man sound so excited about anything else before! He could barely contain himself, and less than a 30 seconds into the conversation, he blurted out the great news - Guess what?! NO MORE CRUTCHES! He had just been in to see the doctor the day before, and he was officially cleared to put full weight on his leg. What an answer to prayer! That was the final piece of that puzzle that we all had been waiting for! However, that wasn't the only great news he had to share. Along with that news came the notice that Marcos could return home to Guatemala in 5 WEEKS! Now that he is walking on his own and only taking oral antibiotics instead of IV antibiotics, Marcos will be re-united with his family, Lord-willing, at the end of June/beginning of July, pending one final "okay" from the doctor.
As I wrapped up the conversation with Marcos, I asked him if it would be okay if I shared the great news with my friends, family, church family, and other supporters. His response, first of all, was "Of course! Share it with everyone - share it with the whole world!" That comment was quickly followed by "...but when you do, please PLEASE tell them thank you and let them know how truly grateful I am for all of their support and prayers." So here is a huge thank you from the bottom of Marcos' heart - and mine. Thank you for all of your support and prayers through this whole process - we could not have made it without you!
